Modernising the Ancient Art of Calligraphy

Over the last decade, artists have been transforming the techniques of calligraphy, by replacing the traditionally known tools and introducing a modernised approach. Thanks to a recent VR installation by the Taiwan National Palace Museum, it is now possible to experience digitalised calligraphy. The Museum has partnered up with the technology show at Computex to present a virtual reality display that transports you into a stunning Chinese pavilion. With the flick of a wrist, users can follow the words in the virtual background to paint the perfect Chinese character. Styles in the surrounding realm draw inspiration from traditional artists, such as masterpieces from the Tang Dynasty. This unique activation could be a brilliant way to create that wow-factor at your next event. The project will be available to try out at the Computer Taipei exhibition until the 3rd June.
