Taking Bangkok Airport to New Heights

Singapore Changi Airport watch out! Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport is going all out with an indoor AND outdoor forest in their new terminal. Inspired by the lusciously green and shrub-filled landscapes of Thailand, the new terminal transports you to a tropical woodland that no doubt makes a warm welcome. The external forest is accentuated with a waterfall that descends through the lush green leaves. Aside from the impressive waterfall, the airport inside features grandiose wood columns that mimic the aesthetic and function of hundred-year-old tree trunks, with the “Y” shape of the columns serving as rain water collectors. Combining the warmth of wood columns and ample natural lighting, the airport allows visitors and locals to feel at ease in a conventionally fast-paced environment. With a stunning airport on the horizon, it sure paves the runway for our team landing in Bangkok soon!
