Now owned by Shanghai-based SAIC Motors and collaborating with MG Mexico, the company marked its 100th anniversary with a grand celebration in Shanghai. They invited their top 40 dealers from Mexico for a week of corporate training, exploration, and celebrations, alongside the return of F1 to Shanghai.
A Historic Venue for a Milestone Event
The event took place at the historic Baowu Steel Exhibition and Expo Centre, transforming the venue into a dynamic showcase of MG Motors’ history and technology. The 40-meter-high furnace, a relic of industrial power, set the stage for the evening’s festivities. Guests enjoyed a variety of entertainment, starting with a vibrant performance by traditional drummers.
Reflections and Celebrations
Distinguished speakers from SAIC Motor International and SAIC International Mexico reflected on MG Motors’ century-long journey. They shared key milestones, challenges, and triumphs that have shaped the brand. This was followed by the unveiling of the MG4 EV, MG’s first fully-electric hatchback, marking a new chapter in the company’s future.
