A Celebration of Heritage and Modern Luxury
At the heart of Beijing’s historic Central Axis, the Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing opened with a celebration blending traditional heritage and modern luxury. This marks the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s second property in China’s capital. Nestled near landmarks such as The Forbidden City and The Temple of Heaven, the hotel offers a unique cultural experience.
In the courtyard, our Beijing event team proudly supported the unveiling with full planning and coordination.
A Two-Part Grand Opening
The event unfolded in two vibrant phases. First, a ribbon-cutting ceremony featured traditional lion dances and the reveal of a bespoke fan created by renowned artist Xu Bing.
Then came the grand gala, a stunning showcase of Beijing’s spirit. More than 150 guests – including ambassadors, VIP clients, celebrities like Vivienne Tam and Karen Mok – were immersed in a rich cultural experience.
Immersive Experiences and Iconic Moments
Throughout the courtyard, traditional entertainers brought the space to life. Guests enjoyed candied hawthorn treats, live opera, and Mahjong games.
A standout moment came with pianist Yuja Wang’s elegant solo performance. As a cherished fan of the Mandarin Oriental brand, she bridged tradition and modernity with grace.
The night continued with a high-energy DJ set at Tiao Bar, adding a vibrant, contemporary twist to the celebration.
Our Contribution
From creative design to managing every performance, our event planning team ensured every moment flowed seamlessly. We’re proud to support the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group once again, helping craft a memorable guest experience from start to finish.
