As the world’s most popular football league, the Premier League has long nurtured connections with Chinese fans, football institutions, and local partners. Recognising China’s passion for football and the importance of investing in the sport’s future throughout the region, the Premier League set forth to complete and celebrate a key milestone – the official opening of their new Beijing office. Proudly supported by our event planning team in China, this new base represents a strengthened commitment to engage fans, as well as collaborate with Chinese authorities, stakeholders, and partners, both at elite and grassroots levels.
The first part of this momentous celebration took place at the China World Hotel, where the Premier League renewed its partnership with the Chinese Football Association through the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Opening remarks were delivered by Paul Molnar, Chief Media Officer at the Premier League, alongside President Song of the Chinese Football Association. The event featured a star-studded panel discussion with Premier League legends Michael Owen, Nemanja Vidic, and Sun Jihai, as well as CSL coach Wang Dongni.
Following the official MOU signing, and to further highlight the Premier League’s community-driven efforts, a Premier Skills Coach Showcase was held at the Workers’ Stadium. The event featured a day of practical sessions for 35 grassroots coaches, led by club coaches from Leicester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Held on the final day of a four-day Coach Development course, delivered by Premiere League in partnership with the British Council, more than 80 local schoolchildren participated, demonstrating the impact of football education at a grassroots level.
It was a privilege for our event management team in China to support the Premier League as they celebrated this meaningful milestone. From creative design and production to seamless event execution across multiple venues, we ensured every detail was aligned with their vision. As the Premier League looks to strengthen collaborations with Chinese football authorities, clubs, and the broader football community, we are excited to have played a part in setting the stage for future growth – creating opportunities for local talent and bringing the passion of Premier League football closer to fans across China.
