A Once-in-a-Lifetime Silversea Immersive Gala Dinner
Every year, Silversea embarks on a 132-day odyssey, offering its VIP guests a chance to explore the world’s most extraordinary destinations. This year, Shanghai was on the itinerary, and our event planning team in China was called upon to create an unforgettable culinary experience for guests, after three years of eager anticipation.
A Historic Venue: The Oriental Pearl Tower
As many guests had previously visited Shanghai in the past, we decided to privatize one of the city’s most iconic landmarks – the Oriental Pearl Tower. These guests would have witnessed the tower’s construction and completion in 1994. With breathtaking panoramic views as a backdrop, we hosted a four-course gala dinner within this historic building.
A Blend of Cultures and Performances
The evening featured traditional performances blending East and West. Guests enjoyed the soul-stirring melodies of the Chinese Erhu and piano, along with the resounding beats of a captivating drum performance. These performances transported attendees into a bygone era of Chinese heritage and artistic expression.
A Modern Spectacle
As the evening progressed, the event transformed into a modern spectacle. At the introduction of each course, the ambiance shifted. A mesmerizing display of UV calligraphy paintings illuminated the space, created by a local Chinese artist. Each tablecloth, adorned with unique artwork, remained hidden until revealed by black lights. The glow-in-the-dark bouquets on each table added to the magical atmosphere.
Seamless Execution and Unforgettable Memories
As the revolving restaurant completed its 360-degree rotation, the evening came to a close. Guests departed with unforgettable memories of Shanghai’s cityscape. From concept to execution, our event planning team in Shanghai ensured that every detail was flawlessly orchestrated, creating an immersive experience that captured Silversea’s world-renowned hospitality.
